4CthePower Benefit Recap
Via www.4cthepower.com -
What a great night it was to welcome home the Far*East Movement from their National Party Rock Tour and raise money for the UC Davis MIND Institute and the Little Red Scarf Project. Our little gathering raised $1000 dollars for the research on Autism and collected 4 boxes full of presents for the Children of the Little Red Scarf Project in China. Thank you everyone for your donations!
There were great performances by AJ Rafael, IZ, Lydia Paek, Vudoo Soul, Kevin Ko, Mare Rasing and a surprise performance by FM! The atmosphere was so intimate and relaxed. The artists were able to interact with the audience which was what we wanted to create for this event.
We are especially proud of Kevin Ko who attends Wilson High School and attended our 4C the Power workshop in November. He absolutely blew us away with his rapping skills at the workshop. IZ and 4C gave Kevin a challenge to practice and write a rap, and then perform it. Well that’s what happened at the Acoustic Holiday Party! Kevin performed FM’s Blue Collar Blues with Mare singing the hook.
FM was so surprised and happy with Kevin selecting their song and then performing it so well. Kevin rapped jsplif’s verse and then wrote his own verse. HE WAS AWESOME!!
